Love the DOF and the 2nd and 10th ones... but they are all waaaaay on the blue side! is that what you were going for? but they look like they have blue ears and fur... add a lil orange-redish tint to them, warm em up a bit, and they will be great!

Too many to list!
Blue - I have to agree with Kika.. the poses, expressions, and DOF all are right on the spot.. but with the exception of one the WB looks off in them.. I know it 's really hard to get a black dog not to take on bluish cast.. and if it's black and tan.. ( like Dutch was) it's a real pisser to get the WB right. Maybe Minnie has a tip on how she gets hers right.. I know the black nd tans for me have always been hard to prevent the blue cast in if I don't shoot them in RAW....you have try shooting in RAW LOL It's way easier to correct the WB on a RAW file than a jpg.. well for me it is.. LOL

BTW it always seemed harder to get the WB right on the black dogs if they were in green grass.. ... do not ask my why cause I have no clue!

ty all.

My issue is that they do have red fur, not tan... brindles are red and black, and if I get the black correct, then the red is flat, if I get the red correct, then black is wrong.
I think I will redo this and post later ....

I think what we call tan.. like a black and tan coon hound .. is what you call red.. even if it isn't.. that's the same problem I always had with the bi colored .. if I got the red/tan part right..the black is off.. if I get the black right .. the other is off..
where oh where is Minnie???? LOL

hey Carol try this.. use the Nik color Fx filter set.. brilliance and warmth filter.. use the slider to get the it right on the dogs.. (it'll make it look crappy on the grass..) then use the brush option and just brush it on the dogs.. I tried it and it seemed like it worked fairly well..

ty Gretchen! I'll try that!

Are coon hounds like an auburn color? That is what color my girls are. Everyone says they look like tigers when the sun hits them.

ah I found a pic.. this is similar, though not as deep as my girls color

Great shots.

Love to roll around with them in a field, looks like they are very playful.

#8 of yours is fairly good with the coloring... just upping the contrast and/or maybe the saturation would help too...?

hm, the black still looks the same to me. o_0

Are any even worth me working on? I feel like my focus is wrong, not on the eyes like it should be. What do you all think?

Oh Blue yes! withthe exception of the last one that sems a little soft.. I think the poses and the comp and pretty much every thing but WB is good in them all! The black and Tan coon hounds are colored like Rottwielers if that helps..

I played too!! :)

What I did was open it up in CS3,
Made a duplicate layer,
turned the duplicate B&W,
then added a layer mask,
then I used the paintbrush to paint away the B&W on everything but the dog.
Turned the opacity on the B&W layer to 55%,
Then went back to the original layer and used an action called Warm It up chris from Totally Rad actions.

The end.
