Too many to list!
Kika - there's no doubt that you would love the D300... my only thought would be to get it from one of the more reputable dealers, or somebody Kyle could maybe reccommend... I haven't ever heard of the photodynasty place.... not that it means it's a bad place though.. I'm just distrustful of most online camera places...

good wide angle hmmm for a wedding you want fast.. and crap right now I can't think enough plainly to tell you... sheesh.. I am a pea brain... hey go to photo.net and look there at the beginning wedding stuff and the wedding kits of the pros...
I'm think a VR 70-200 2.8 and maybe a 50 but I have no idea if that even sounds right now... KYLE where are you?????

as far as online photo places i ordered from one when i sold my d50 and went back to a pns and they told me i would have it in like 3 days. then they called me and asked if i wanted all of this other stuff with it and when i said no they said that my camera would take like 2 weeks to get. then they sent me an email that said my camera was on backorder with no known ship date so i cancelled my order and spent the extra to buy from ritz camera because b&h didnt have it.

Photo Dynasty is NOT a good place to buy. Bait & switch type place. Always go thought B&H, Adorama, or Amazon, it's the only way to know for sure you're not going to get scammed.

As far as an upgrade, what are you seeking? Certain features? Better IQ? You really won't see any better image quality unless you go with either better lenses or go to the D700.

The D300 is great though and is excellent in low light due to its low noise high sensitivities.

For a wide angle on a cropped frame, you should really look for something in the 10-20mm range, that's the only true wide angle on a cropped sensor.

well thats depressing!!! I know B&H is good, Ive gotten a lot of things there before, but $1,700, thats .... just wowzers!!! lol

I didnt even know there was a D700 coming out! I went and looked at it and I didnt see a significant difference other then the price compared to the 300! $3,000!!! am I missing something???

and for the wide, I was looking at a 14mm, but I wasnt sure if I should go lower...

Kyle to the rescue!!! lol hehehe thanks! :)

It costs that much at B&H because that's really the genuine price. The huge difference in the D700 is the full frame sensor. Huge difference. It's basically Nikon finally coming up with an equivalent to the 5D. a 14mm prime would be excellent and should be wide enough for most situations at a wedding.

Just my opinion, I rented a 10-22mm lens for my last few weddings and felt that the 10mm was too wide for the looks I wanted. I used it more on the 22mm side so for my next wedding I will be renting the 17-55mm 2.8. It will be about the same crop as the other lens on my cropped sensor. I've stuck mostly with my 85mm and 70-200mm during most of the ceremony and receptions though. My next purchase though is going to be a True macro lens along with a new body, but I'm kindof sitting back on the new body to see if they ever announce the replacement for the 5d.

Hmm... well I was thinking about buying the 10-20mm cuz the 14mm that I really want is a lil bit more then I was thinking for a lens right now...

Do you think renting is a good idea??? If so then I would rent the camera body I want (the 700 or 300) and then a wide angle lens.... and wheres a good place to rent from??? I need it the 26th of this month!!!!!
