My god.... look at all those gifs over there on the left of this page - I think I will insert one here. I think this is me last night. Not really, I only had two glass of wine. I guess you are wondering by now who this character is that has just joined your forum. Well, just an ordinary bloke really, with an interest in many things but right now my attention is on photography. So far, my photographic journey has not been very long. I didn't get very interested in the digital camera until this year, Jan 1, 2008. And only then, I used the auto settings on my point and shoot. On April 1st, I decided I was going to learn to use the manual settings on my camera and it has made the whole photographic experience more interesting. I am still in the learning mode with the settings but hopefully I will learn. On a more personal note, I am an amateur artist working with acrylics and oil pastels. I paint as a cheap way to get artwork on my walls. And very recently, I have been dabbling at writing short stories - hence the user name raconteur. I find it fun to snap a photo of something and write a story about it. My cousin Ruth, calls me a Renaissance man because of all my varied interest and skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc - a man of many things but master of none. I see some familiar names in the members list. Some of you may know me as bigsmile from SOA and Xtremecamera.com. And now you may be saying.... Oh no, now he is over here too. All I can say to that is... If you have any questions, feel free. I don't promise to answer them but hey... :p
