Too many to list!
Our first weekly challenge will be "Send Me A Postcard".
Take a shot that represents a favorite place you visit, a favorite place you go to shoot, a representative shot of your nieghborhood, county..backyard even!
Pretend you are shooting for a postcard or a travel article about your nieghborhood/area.
It could be a favorite restraunt, and scenic spot, or even your front porch! You decide. This will help us all get a feel for where we all live too...

some travel photgraphy links

Travel Photo Tips - about.com

Travel photo info - Fodors

I hope everyone enjoys this new adventure we are undertaking!

Here's an example.....from a display in a park I like to visit...

Gretchen....I was just curious if you were going to have a rule on how many submissions were allowed, Kindof like what the school house did!

Alrighty...this is part of our courthouse. It has recently been completely redone and Lampasas County just celebrated its 150th birthday...so I thought this would be fitting for my postcard.

WOW!!! I am impressed already you guys! Woo Hoo This is gonna be so much fun!!!
As for the number of submissions, how about 2......It always seems like as soon as I submit mine I end up with something I like better the next day...so if we have 2 then we all have a chance to add an extra. Seems like once I start fiddlng with something in a challenge I end up playing with it for several days in a row. I always get too excited at the beginning of a challenge and can't wait to post something and by the end of the week I have something that's usually better and I can't post it (on other sites...) So since that's how my brain works I thought maybe some of your might work the same way. (now that's a scary thought!)

Great work you guys! Keep em coming!!! :flower: :wahoo:

Okay...I really loved this display in front of Casper City Hall...But no matter what angle I shot it from there was a building of some sort in the background.....how can you make a postcard with that....I'm submitting it anyway with hopes to learn how to make the best of an awkward picture. HELPPPPPP! :flower:

Sounds good to me Gretchen...I might go back and do a few more shots when it's not so hot and I don't have Kallie girl with me. She didn't like the afternoon sun!

Any advice is helpful and much appreciated

"View From The River"
I took this photo of the bridge that you have to drive over to get to my town. It is an Island in the Niagara River. So- the blue bridges and the water are what first comes to mind when I think of my town.

Well, I actually had already taken this one. But, when I think of Flagstaff AZ I think of our mountains, the San Francisco Peaks.

Here is one that I took as the sun was setting a couple weeks ago. I have it posted on SOA. This site made me have such a strong feeling that my mom and dad were saying hello to me. I dedicated this one to them. :)
